Welcome to Meadow Harvest
Meadow Harvest offers 100% Grass-fed Beef and Lamb that has been
raised on our family farm on the Oregon Coast. All Beef and Lamb that we
raise are All Natural and Grass Fed!
Brian and Sage have been farming together since 1988. When we began to plan for retirement from the dairy business we were unable to think of life without cows, sheep and wool. (We must be descendants of the crew working below decks on Noah’s ark.) Our solution was starting a business to sell grass fed beef and lamb at local farmers markets. We found the markets gave us the chance to finally meet the people who enjoyed the foods of our labors. |

We also like meeting the amazing variety of people who are not farmers or cows, and hearing they appreciate our hard work and quality products. We now have no milk cows and 20 Murray Grey breed beef cattle and 80 mother sheep (ewes) .These are the animals who live on the farm with us for years. In good weather they graze the pastures along the North Fork Nehalem River turning grass into food for our customers. |

We strive to farm in a sustainable manner, protecting our 60 acres and the river which borders our farm. We use rotational grazing; which involves dividing the land into small pasture/ paddocks. Each paddock has a water trough and access to the lane up to the barns. The animals can always walk in for shelter from too much heat or the cold blasting summer rain storms we get here on the coast. |

All the meat we sell is from animals born on our farm and raised with their mothers for most of their lives. We do not use any feedlots for finishing. We have learned the health benefits from grass-fed meat are highest when the animals have continual access to green grass, so that’s how we raise our animals. We don’t use or feed hormones, antibiotics or grain to the animals intended for food. We only use antibiotics to treat illness. We do feed grain to the mothers, our breeding stock, to help them stay healthy and produce milk.
